Why a phone version
Most documents are opened on a phone at least once: a contract arrives by email, a spreadsheet lands in a chat, a presentation needs one last look before a meeting. On a mainstream mobile office app, that moment usually means signing in and syncing the file to someone else's cloud.
ForeThought on Android takes the same approach as the desktop suite: the file is opened from your phone, edited on your phone and saved on your phone. There is no account to create.
What it does
- Documents: open and save .docx files.
- Spreadsheets: open and save .xlsx files, with formulas that recalculate as you type.
- Presentations: open and save .pptx files, and edit slides and text.
- PDF: read and annotate PDF files.
- Markdown: write formatted notes, saved as plain .md files.
- Files from anywhere: open files from Downloads, Google Drive or any app, and share your work to email, chat or Drive from the file menu.
Private by design
Documents are stored in the app's private storage on the phone. The app makes no network connection of its own. Purchases go through Google Play, and your subscription is confirmed on the phone itself, so even the licence check does not send your details to us.
Arabic and English
The whole app works in English and Arabic, with right-to-left layout in every editor and Arabic fonts included. A bilingual document reads the same way on the phone as it does on the desktop.
Pricing
ForeThought is free to install. Without a subscription you can open, read and share your documents. Creating and editing needs a subscription, which includes a 60-day free trial for new subscribers. After the trial it costs QAR 99 a year, or the equivalent in your local currency, billed by Google Play. You can cancel any time in Google Play, and if you cancel during the trial you pay nothing.
ForeThought is not available in the United States or the European Union.
