ForeThought Office Suite Terms and Conditions

ForeThought is published by Abtikarat Louis Trading and Services, CR No. 173808, Doha, Qatar, which also serves as our e-commerce activity reference under Ministerial Decision No. 25 of 2026 (confirmed by the owner: no separate e-commerce licence number exists, online sale is covered under the same CR).

ForeThought is a fully offline, locally-run AI office suite (word processor, spreadsheet, presentation editor, PDF tool, markdown editor, and an AI-assisted mail client) for Windows and macOS. The document editors, without Mail and without the AI assistant, are also offered as apps for Android and iPhone where published in Google Play or the App Store. Full functional description, system requirements, and language support (English and Arabic, with automatic detection) are stated on the product listing and in the in-app terms shown before first use.

Prices are in Qatari Riyal and stated inclusive of applicable tax unless noted otherwise at checkout. There is no monthly option. Your licence is renewed annually. We notify you at least thirty days before the end of your term; if you do not renew, there is a further thirty-day grace period before the licence lapses. Your documents are unaffected by expiry, ForeThought never holds your files hostage to a licence check, since licence verification is entirely offline.

Registering your licence

Windows and macOS. We email your licence file to the address on your order. Each device your licence covers is activated separately: ForeThought shows a code made from salted, one-way hashes of that device's hardware identifiers, you send us the code, and we send back a signed activation bound to that device. Activation never contacts a server, so no server of ours can switch your copy off. Moving a seat to a new or repaired device is a support request to the contact below.

Trying ForeThought before you buy

Windows and macOS. Without a licence, ForeThought runs with every feature for 60 days from the first time it is opened on a device. After that it becomes read-only until a licence is installed: you can still open, read, print and export every document, but not edit or create documents. Nothing is deleted, and installing a licence restores editing immediately.

Android. The Android app is a yearly subscription sold through Google Play at QAR 99 per year, or the equivalent Google Play shows in your currency. New subscribers get a 60-day free trial. The subscription renews automatically each year until you cancel it in Google Play; if you cancel during the free trial you are not charged. The purchase belongs to the Google account that made it. There is no licence file or activation code on phones. The iPhone app is not yet published.

Windows and macOS licences are paid by card through SADAD, the Qatar payment gateway, at office.louis-innovations.com. Phone app purchases are paid through Google Play or the App Store under that store's terms. We do not store your card details; payment processing is handled entirely by the payment provider you pay through.

ForeThought is free to download from the Microsoft Store. A copy installed from the Microsoft Store is licensed like any other Windows copy: with a licence bought through SADAD, as above.

Because ForeThought is a digital licence with no physical delivery, refund requests made within 14 days of purchase, where the licence has not been activated on any device, are honoured in full. Once activated, refunds are considered case by case via the contact below. This exceeds the three-day right to rescind an electronic contract under Qatar's Law No. 16 of 2010. Refunds for purchases made through Google Play or the App Store are requested from, and decided by, that store.

If a complaint cannot be resolved directly, you may refer it to Qatar's Ministry of Commerce and Industry consumer protection channels, or pursue resolution through the competent courts of Qatar.

ForeThought works offline. If it runs into an error, it may offer to send an error report to our support desk (support.louis-innovations.com) so the fix can ship in the next update. Sending is always your choice, offered only while your device is online, and nothing is sent unless you click Send. The report contains the technical details of the error only (the error message, the lines of ForeThought code involved, the app version and the operating system version) with file paths outside the application, email addresses and network addresses removed first; it never contains your documents, their names, your user name, your machine name, your licence, or any identifier for you or your device. Fixes are delivered through updates, so keep ForeThought updated.

We may update these terms; the effective date above will change accordingly. Material changes to what the product does are additionally disclosed and re-accepted through the in-app terms, which carry their own version number.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Qatar, and any dispute not resolved under Section 6 is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Qatar.
